5U Modular Synths Are Too Big And Only Good For Melodic Music Like Bach And Berlin School!

video upload by John L Rice

"😜 Some noise music from this little 5U system. A mic is plugged into the Modcan Envelope Follower and the preamp output goes to the input of the Modcan Digital Delay. The feedback loop output of the delay goes to the Free State FX Supra Resonator (MI Rings) and the rings output goes to the Corsynth C103 Frequency Divider/Multiplier, and the C103’s output goes back to the Delay’s feedback loop return. The Encore Electronics UEG is running a CV sequence to the Supra Resonator. There is also some reverb provided my the Yamaha mixer off screen.

Corsynth - Dual LFO - Patch Examples #mumodular #muformat #5U #synthesizer #modularsynth #synth

video upload by Corsynth Modular Synths

"Dual LFO - Patch Examples. This video is a compilation of patch examples that I've been uploading to the Shorts section.

If you want this module to become a reality... pre-order it now :)
Pre-order is open until the 12th of February"

via Corsynth

"It's a dual LFO with some interesting features. Modulation sources are always a must have in every system and this module can be a good addition to save some space.

Those are the main characteristics :
Two LFOs in one space.
LFO1 range : 20 seconds per cycle to 20Hz (can be extended using CV).
LFO2 range : 40 seconds per cycle to 10Hz
Each LFO has an independent Sync input that will reset the LFO.
LFO1 is voltage controlled. It has a FM input with attenuator.
LFO2 triangle wave is normalized to the LFO1's FM input. This connection allows to create complex modulations without any patching. The normalization will be broken if a patch cable is inserted into the FM input.
LFO1 has two waveforms available simultaneously Triangle and Saw
LFO2 has three waveforms available simultaneously , Triangle, Sine and Square.

The module is designed and fully working but since we don't know if there will be enought interest, we have opened a pre-ordering period to gauge the interest. During this period you can pre-order the module paying a 50€ deposit and with this you will get a 10% discount from the final price (220€ +VAT (VAT only for EU residents )). This deposit is fully refundable in case there are not enough preorders and the module is not released.

Read carefully the following pre-ordering conditions."

Playlist:

1. O Z Hall: Zebra Synth
Dive into the enthralling world of synthesizers and witness O Z Hall's outstanding entry, "Zebra Synth", in the Synthesizers.com Composition Contest. Crafted with unparalleled precision and technique, this remarkable composition combines an array of captivating sounds that will take you on a breathtaking sonic journey.

Hall masterfully utilizes three distinctive patches in "Zebra Synth" to create an immersive soundscape. The first patch features a drone made using a Q106A oscillator, which is meticulously processed by a wave folder. Another oscillator, intertwined with linear FM from the wavefolder output, results in a fascinating "clang tone" that is beautifully amplified by a digital reverb.

In the second patch, a sequenced voice is artfully produced by employing two re-paneled Q106 oscillators. One output is channeled into the input of the linear FM, which subsequently provides intriguing timbral variations. The Q119A sequencer's 3rd row masterfully controls a Ratchet effect, adding even further depth to the composition. An expertly-applied digital delay effect enriches the output of this patch.

Lastly, the lead voice is ingeniously designed using the Q169 Dual Oscillator with Pulse Width modulation. O Z Hall skillfully manipulates the 24db/oct low pass filter in real-time to deliver an electrifying performance. The extended digital delay effect ties the entire sonic experience together.
O Z Hall's "Zebra Synth" draws its arsenal of modular synthesis tools from the Synthesizers.com catalog, including Q106, Q106A, Q119A, Q171, Q148, Q127, Q169, Q168, Q167, Q114, Q174, and Q175A modules. The creative process has been meticulously executed, showcasing how these modules can be combined to engineer a rich and dynamic sound adventure.

New Corsynth C113 West Coast Timbre 5U/MU Format Module

via Corsynth

"A wavefolder is a non-linear waveshaping circuit that allows to create rich harmonic waveforms. Its a distortion circuit that folds back the signal when it reaches a cerTain level. Wavefolding can be seen as the opposite of filtering. Instead removing harmonic content to the incoming signal, a wavefolder adds harmonics to the original signal creating a more complex waveform. For this reason wavefolders work best with waveforms with low harmonic content like sine waves or triangle waves.
Wavefolders together with Lopassgates are one of the main building blocks of the West Coast Synthesis.

The C113 West Coast Timbre features two different wavefolder circuits based on two classic west coast modular synths Buchla and Serge.

The C113 West Coast Timbre main characteristics are :

Two selectable wavefolder circuits.

Manually and CV controlled folding amount

Manually and CV controlled symmetry for non symmetrical folding.

Two audio inputs, one of them attenuated.

Two audio outputs, one of them controlled by a VCA

Thanks to the included VCA, a full featured voice can be created with a minimal amount of modules like a VCO, an envelope and the C113."
